Singing You Awake-1000x1208.jpg

Singing You Awake

In your dreams you are falling,
a swift descent into a dark unknown.
Yet, the bottom never comes.

In your dreams you are flying,
swept away from the trappings of your struggles.
But you know you must return.

In your dreams you are running
from a faceless shadow gaining on you.
So tired but you cannot stop to rest.

In your dreams you are lost.
Time passes, light never dawns.
You wander aimlessly and alone.

Falling, flying, running, lost …

Darling child, why would I sing you to sleep
when these dreams are waiting?

Beloved, I am singing you awake.
